North Bay Coast Drive

By Rachel Puryear

During the holiday weekend, Kwame and I took a drive up to the North Bay, and visited the various towns along the coast. Enjoying the beaches and green mountain landscape was a great way to relax a little, while we all collectively breathe a sigh of relief for new and sane adult leadership in this country.

One of our stops was Goat Rock, with a trail leading between the beach, and Highway 1 overlooking from above:

Another stop was Bodega Bay, with a more serene and sparkling waterfront at the same level as the highway:

We also stopped to visit a couple of friends (masked and socially distanced, of course). My friend’s cat, however, was clearly not into social distancing, but luckily cats do not need to do so. This kitty, Buddy, looks pretty content with me:

If you have a chance, the North Bay coast offers some incredibly beautiful drives. You can see plenty without getting out of your car. For many places where you can also stop and get out, there is plenty of room to roam around and see beautiful views, while maintaining plenty of space from other people. Drive safely.

Thank you for reading, and stay safe out there. xoxo
