World Class Hugs

Nothing fully prepares you for losing a loved one. It’s something we will all go through sometimes in life, and it’s one of the hardest and most painful things we can experience.

It’s often hard to know what to say to someone who we love, when they are nearing death. And of course, when precious time with a loved one is drawing increasingly short, we want to try and use it as well we can.

However, there are four simple yet powerful things you can say to a loved one who’s close to passing, that they need to hear and that will mean a lot to them. So here they are:

• “Thank you.”
• “I love you.”
• “I forgive you.”
• “Please forgive me.”

These are things that people need to hear near the end of their lives. It will bring them comfort, and hopefully help you as well in knowing that you gave them some good closure before they passed on.

Of course, feel free to also say whatever else seems right, especially if you think you’ll be glad that you said it later on. However, these little sayings are meant to help you if you’re stuck, and they are also things that most people would want to say anyway – and that people need to hear before they pass on.

Say these things while you still have the chance, especially if your loved one is very ill and in fragile health – you cannot always predict when their time will come.

Even if your relationship with the dying person has been complicated and difficult – and this is commonly the case, and I do understand this – still try to err on the side of being loving and focusing on the good aspects of your relationship with them. You probably won’t regret doing so after they’re gone, and the conversations you have with them now will be the last ones in this lifetime.
