One of the hardest things about life is that we will all lose people we love. It’s a very sad, yet inevitable, part of the mortal experience.
Coping with this fact – as well as wondering what might happen afterwards – is a cornerstone of spirituality and religion, and many beliefs and rituals are offered.
One topic of interest to spiritual people in terms of coping with death, is that many people (of different cultures, and walks of life) report seeing their deceased loved ones in dreams following the death of the person.
Sometimes the dreams are mundane, or replay actual things that happened during the deceased person’s life. Others are more vivid, and might even involve the deceased person telling the living person things that they don’t (think they) know.

With the more vivid dreams, the living person might even feel that they are being “visited” by their deceased loved one through their dreams. Some view this very common phenomenon as evidence of consciousness surviving after death, and also of the dead still communicating with the living.
Of course, no person or religion can give any answers for certain, and none of us will really know until our time comes. However, that doesn’t tend to make people less interested in speculating, in the meantime.
At the same time, there are also plenty of reasonable logical explanations for these dreams – it’s a normal way of processing grief, and emotions around that person, for example. Many people feel better after having dreams about deceased loved ones, especially if they were positive.
Personally, I have had several visits from deceased loved ones in dreams. They have generally been positive, and did help with coping with the death. There is definitely a feeling of specialness upon waking up from those dreams.
In any event, if it helps people feel better and cope better, that’s a good thing.
